The
City of Elko Street Department is responsible for maintaining the various
streets and roadways within the City limits of the City of Elko. This
maintenance includes; patching potholes; weed control; street sweeping;
blading of gravel roads; watering gravel roads; "Peel & Pave"
projects; overlays; painting stripes, crosswalks and other traffic markings;
traffic signs; and snow removal and sanding.
In
addition to maintaining City roadways, the Street Department is also responsible
for perimeter fence repairs; storm drain maintenance and repairs maintaining
the downtown corridor parking lots; emptying City trash cans in various
locations throughout the City; Fall Leaf Collection; and Christmas Tree
Collection.
The Street
Department also participates in special projects when approved by the
Elko City Council.
