The Records Unit is responsible for maintaining internal document control over all original reports, including all crime, arrest and traffic reports. Personnel disseminate records and information per court order, state statute and internal policy.

Accident Reports are available for $10.00 (cash) per report at the Elko Police Department, 1401 College Avenue, Elko, NV. Accident Reports are also available for $16.00 per report online at www.docview.us.com. Contact us @ (775) 777-7310 for more information. If the record you need is for court, have your attorney contact us about obtaining a copy via subpoena.

Records - To obtain a record from the Police Department a Public Records Request Form must be submitted. Complete the form and return it to the Police Department.

Work Permits are issued Tuesday - Thursday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and Friday 10:00 am to 12:00 pm If you have never had a permit in the City of Elko you will need to provide the following; pictured identification (issued from a state or government agency) and information about past residences, work places, arrests, and convictions. A fingerprint background check will be conducted. Cash only, checks or credit cards are not accepted.

The following permits are renewable after one year if you do not change employment:

$100.00 + $23.50 State Investigation Fee = $123.50 Cash Only

Felony Convictions: You can be denied a work card for a felony conviction within the last three years. An application must be filled out and reviewed by the Chief of Police. If the Chief believes the application should be denied, a work permit will not be issued. There is an appeals process that can be obtained from the Records Office. The appeal will go before the Elko City Council for review.

**Immigration fingerprinting is done at the Elko County Sheriff Department
