Reporting to the Wastewater Reclamation Facility Superintendent, this position is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled equipment maintenance in the operation of the City Water Reclamation Facilities and systems, including related duties such as process control, and preventative maintenance.
This position requires: A minimum Level I Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (eligible to test after 6 months of employment, certification after one complete year of employment after passing of the test and obtaining 6 continuing education units.), or the ability to obtain the same within one (1) year of employment. Operators will be required to be required to pass a fit test and be able to wear a respirator while performing these duties. Operators will also be required to be on-call (four week rotation) with a 45 minute response time. This position also requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, and a valid Nevada driver’s license. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong mechanical and electrical background and/or possession of a class B CDL.
The hourly wages vary based on experience and qualifications. The starting wage is $16.14 to $18.23 per hour (Trainee) or $18.00 - $20.34 per hour (Technician I), $19.79 to $22.36 per hour (Technician II), $22.39- $25.31 per hour (Technician III), $24.71 to $27.92 per hour (Technician IV), plus an excellent benefits package.

Reporting to the City Council, this position is responsible for performing complex administrative, supervisory and professional work in planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of the City of Elko Police Department. Duties will include, but will not be limited to: maintaining public peace and safety; enforcing applicable laws and ordinances; planning and implementing City law enforcement programs; developing departmental policies and procedures; directing and coordinating staff work activities; reviewing departmental performance and effectiveness; preparing and managing departmental budgets; training and developing department personnel; and meeting with elected/appointed officials, community representatives, law enforcement personnel, and the general public on all aspects of departmental activities. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced leader who has a solid track record of managing organizational change.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice, public administration, or a closely related field, and eight (8) years of experience in police work, five (5) years of which must have been at a sergeant level or higher. A Master’s degree is preferred. This position also requires a valid driver’s license. Applicants must have a current Category I POST certificate from Nevada or a Nevada POST approved Category I Basic in-Lieu certification reciprocity state. Possession of a National Academy Graduation Certificate is also desirable. Preference will be given to Veterans.
The annual salary range is $95,022 - $126,449, plus an excellent benefits package.
