City Elections are held in conjunction with the County and
Federal elections, every two years on even numbered years. |

What are the terms of Office? |
A: |
Terms of office are four years (unless otherwise noted), and staggered, with either the Mayor and two City Councilmen seats, or two City Councilmen seats. |

What are the qualifications to file for office? |

The qualifications for filing for Mayor or City Councilman are as follows: |

(a) a bona fide resident of the city for at least 2 years prior to his/her election.
(b) A qualified elector within the city.
(c) The candidate must actually, as opposed to constructively, reside in the City of Elko at least 30 days immediately preceding the date of the close of filing of declarations of candidacy for this office |
