Contribution and Expenses Report
Every candidate for state, district, county, or township office must file Contributions & Expense Reports. See NRS 294A.120 and 294A.200. The reports are filed online.
The Contributions & Expense Reports are due:
Report #1 = Due May 22, 2012
Report #2 = Due June 8, 2012
Report #3 = Due October 16, 2012
Report #4 = Due November 2, 2012
Report #5 = Due January 15, 2013
Pursuant to NRS 294A.420, the following is the statutorily prescribed penalty schedule for reports that are untimely filed:
If the report is filed 1-7 days late, $25 for each day the report is late
If the report is filed 8-15 days late, $50 for each day the report is late
If the report is filed more than 15 days late, $100 for each day the report is late, up to a maximum of $5,000 for each violation.
Financial Disclosure Report
Every candidate for state, district, county, or township office must file a Financial Disclosure Report. See NRS 281.561(1)(a). This report is filed online.
The Financial Disclosure Report is due: April 8, 2012
Pursuant to NRS 291.581, the following is the statutorily prescribed penalty schedule for reports that are untimely filed:
If the statement is filed not more than 10 days after the applicable deadline set: $25
If the statement is filed more than 10 days but not more than 20 days after the applicable deadline set: $50
If the statement is filed more than 20 days but not more than 30 days after the applicable deadline set: $100
If the statement is filed more than 30 days but not more than 45 days after the applicable deadline set: $250
If the statement is not filed or is filed more than 45 days after the applicable deadline set: $2,000
